Ryan Drake

Playwright

Ryan Drake is a queer playwright and educator in Brooklyn, NY. His play you don’t have to do anything had an acclaimed sold-out run at HERE Arts Center presented by Pulitzer Prize Finalist Will Arbery. His work has been supported at New York Theater Workshop, IRT Theater, Mercury Store, The Brick Aux, The Tank, The Flea, and The Wild Project. He’s a member of Roundabout Theater’s Space Jam Program, an Artist-in-Residence at New York Theater Workshop’s Dartmouth Residency, a two-time PWC Core Apprentice Finalist and a two-time Page 73 and Princess Grace Semifinalist. His short films have been screened at Newfest, Maryland Film Festival, Bushwick Film Festival among others. He won the Rita & Burton Goldberg Playwriting Prize and the James E. Sammy Zeisel

Director

Sammy Zeisel is a director, filmmaker, and teacher residing in Brooklyn, NY. He received his MFA in Directing from Yale, where he was awarded the Julian Milton Kaufman Memorial Prize for Excellence. Recent work includes the original puppet musical Gooey's Toxic Aquatic Adventure (The Bushwick Starr), The Undercity (Culture Lab LIC, Jim Henson Production Grant 2026); The Seagull (Quinnipiac University); Abby Paj Tries to Stay Alive, (The Neo-Futurists); and a workshop of Tremolo, Regan Moro’s queer reimagining of The Seagull (Fault Line Theatre). At Yale, he directed Annie Baker's translation of Uncle Vanya, his own adaptation of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, as well as new plays by Danielle Stagger and Doug Robinson. He has worked with institutions such as The Civilians, Rattlestick Theater, Museum of the Moving Image, Steppenwolf Theater, Woolly Mammoth Theater, Lookingglass Theater, Actors Theater of Louisville and Brown University. He is an alumnus of Northwestern University and was the Directing Fellow at Rattlestick Theater 2025/26. Upcoming projects include The Undercity at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in November. Julia Greer is an actor, writer and producing artistic director of The Hearth. Joyce Ciesel

Sound Design

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Joyce is a regional sound designer and composer. Recent sound design credits include: Native Gardens (Hartford Stage); The Approach (Irish Rep); PIVOT (Rivendell Theater Ensemble); The Scarlet Letter (American Stage); Hurricane Diane (Hartford Stage); Notes on Killing Seven Oversight Management and Economic Stability Board Members (Yale Rep); Falcon Girls (Yale Rep). Joyce served as the 2024 and 2025 resident sound designer at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference, she is a guest artist at the National Theater Institute, a member of the TSDCA, and a 2022 Jeff nominee for best midsize sound design.

Gaby Febland

Illustrator

Gaby FeBland is a puppeteer, playwright, and illustrator born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Her illustration work can be found in the pages of The Chicago Reader, American Libraries Magazine, Sixty Inches From Center, South Side Weekly, and City Bureau. She is the co-founder of Foreshadow, an experimental shadow puppetry company that has performed at Lincoln Center, the La MaMa Puppet Festival, the Carnegie Hall Weimar Festival, Green-Wood Cemetery, and the Puppet Showplace Theater (Brookline, MA). She has previously collaborated with Sammy Zeisel on a workshop of her play, CAT (Rattlestick Theatre), THE UNDERCITY (Culture Lab LIC; 2026 Jim Henson Foundation Production Grant), and GOOEY'S TOXIC AQUATIC ADVENTURE (The Bushwick Starr), for which she designed puppets. Recent puppetry performance credits include CUMULO (MITU580, Drama Desk Nominee), THE NEW YORK NUTCRACKER (Lincoln Center Spotlight Series), and MIA M.I.A. (La MaMa). Upcoming projects include THE UNDERCITY at the La MaMa Puppet Festival in November 2026 & DEVOUR THE MOON, a collaboration with Foreshadow and Gamelan Dharma Swara, in December 2026. Mark Toubman

Mark Toubman is a producer based in Brooklyn, NY. Previously produced I’m Repeating Myself by Chad Kaydo (The Brick), a reading series by The Omnivores (The Brick) and a workshop of Joseph Medeiros’s Telemachus: Books I-IV of Homer's Odyssey (Theaterlab). He also got his start assisting the producing team on the initial run of JOB by Max Wolf Friedlich (SoHo Playhouse). His mom Susan was a first grade teacher for 30+ years, so it brings him great pride to share Ms. Joy's story with the world.
